About Shèpouche

Creator & founder of Shèpouche

I love to create something new!  I love art!  I love to watch things grow!

I remember being 12 years-old  when my mother gave me a crochet needle, hook size I.  My mother showed me how to crochet chains and I chained all night! My 6th grade teacher taught me how to knit. In middle school, I will never forget my wood-shop instructor who taught me how to use high powered tools to build a spice rack and many other household items.  While in high school, I learned how to sew and I made all my outfits that year. All of my teachers have helped me to develop and fuel my passion for the arts and creativity. There's just something about using your hands to create a product that can serve as a gift to someone else while suiting your needs too.

I have served 20 years as a public school teacher, teaching all grades K-12 , including higher education while working as an adjunct professor.  I have incorporated my love for the arts with students of all ages. I made the decision to use my family consumer science skills to create clothing, blankets, scarves, and pouches. I found myself creating these items for my students and their families as they were needed.  As I would share and create these items, someone else would always come along and ask, "can you make me one too?"  This is when I realized I was no longer an amateur at sewing.  I was able to create something everyone wanted.

Since my pouches were adored by all and came in handy to many people, I wanted to produce as many as I could.  My colleagues and friends loved the bold patterns and colors in the fabrics.  My pouches are very stylish, anyone can utilize them.  Try one, my  Shèpouche will serve its purpose.

God Bless,

Rèna
